Everyday poetry #5 -- Everyday Illusion

Everyday Illusion
by Robert G Parent

See the illusion in everyday actions
Where do they come from
The choices we make
Based upon our beliefs
We have in the moment
Know that
What we believe changes
From time to time
Based on who we are trying to become in that moment
And about who we think we are
We create what we think about
To create differently
Think different
And become something new.

Everyday Poetry #4 -- Life's News

Life's News
 by Robert G Parent

My shirts spinning in the machine
News of the day on TV
People talking about Life's issues
In the laundromat.

Cars travel on the road outside
 People in their homes
 Watching movies, sports, and shows
All life is centered in the laundromat.

Here in Washington, DC 1600 Pennsylvania avenue down the road My shirts spinning in the machine
People talk about Life's issues,
All life is centered in the laundromat.

Sacred Places

Here is some poetry from the White Mountains.

Sacred Places
by Robert G Parent

Go into stores
Restaurants or anywhere
Bring your mask
For it's required wear
Day upon day
Week upon week
Many months we did
I long for the natural way
A walk in the woods
Or even a national forest
To feel those energies
To hear those sounds
To see awesome things
Within a forest canopy
No masks
No cities
No negativity
Just beauty
Beauty we all long for
Come ye enter
The land of peace
In nature's sacred places
And re-balance

No Soul in Social Media

No soul in social media
by Robert G Parent

My voice may be loud
But no one hears it
I am not respected
This is how I feel

Why not?
I am a child of the one God
In a world of social media
No one really says a word

But in this world of social media
Only the loudest egos
Can be heard
To drown the ocean's roar

Everyday with Poetry #3 -- City Nightlife

I wrote this last year. Its amazing how I'd miss these sounds of the city nightlife.

City nightlife
The sound of music in the distance
The sound of cars passing on the streets
The talk I hear from outside
of a local tavern
In the heart of the Historic District
Many years in another time
The same sounds were heard
The sounds of the country are nice
But magical the city sounds can be
In this magical world
We live in

Zombies

Zombies

by Robert G Parent

 They wear the masks
 Touch it
 while eating and not eating
 without thinking

They sit with families
in stores and resturants
with no masks
while others do

The subconscious desire
the fear of death
the fear of being themselves
the fear of being outted

They wear the masks
while alone in a car
while walking outside
while hiking in the woods

The mindless automatons
doing what they're told
the zombie appocalyse is here
the end of freedom has begun.

Cool Autumn Day

Cool Autumn Day
 by Robert G Parent

The day in August is cool
Foreshadowing
what's to come
Calmness in the present day
I see myself
reflected in the season
Light ripples in the lake
Birds sing their songs
Ducks glide on the surface
I too do my own thing
The tree looks
down on the scene
The bench next to the tree
Waits for humans
to do the same
They're stuck in their fear
But the time is to come
When humans too
shall be calm
For good or for ill
The choice is always theirs.

Blessings of nature
by Robert G Parent

I sit here a rest area in Hooksett New Hampshire and think about my day. Oh how lucky, how blessed I was today driving around the White Mountains, hiking in the woods, recording audio and video, sharing my story of New Hampshire and the mountains I enjoy.

Beautiful cool night in August, sitting outside the diner eating a cheeseburger and drinking a Powerade, I look at the 93 in front of me, the cars in the parking lot, and the stars in the night sky. We all had a journey today, an experience that at some point is shared in our Collective consciousness.

I remember Robert Frost said something like men work together even though they are apart. I think he saw in his observations of nature the continuity of human consciousness within all life.

We all learn this lesson in our lives either now at present, in the past, or in the future. If we were to take the passage of time out of the equation, we would see this truth all at once. But, I'd still miss the passage of time because we get to write a story and tell it over a time written in the atoms of the Soul.

Within the infinity atoms are the libraries of the Soul, keeper of much information from another universe long since dead, the experiences are stored forever to be accessed and pondered on to give new insights from those lessons long ago. Oh, how beautiful the thought.

How Space Changes

Our Spaces
by Robert G Parent

Our space changes
how we do
our space changes
how society does
all the stuff people buy
is how minimalism came
we decide how society changes
to only buy stuff
We truly love
instead of clutter we never use
The energy, the psychology
The soul of our spaces
depends on how we use
Our Spaces,  over a time.

Everyday with Poetry #2 -- inflammation

Everyday with Poetry #2 -- Inflammation
Robert G Parent

It's cooler outside.
But a building takes longer to cool.
Should I get an extension cord
and put the fan in front of window,
to pull the cool night air into myself,
the place I dwell?
A simple question we have in the heat of summer.
To cool the inflammation of a life
lived in stress, anxiety, and worry,
a trinity of another source,
that also teaches.
I watch van life videos on YouTube,
a simple life maybe,
that is what I need.
Maybe, that's what we all need,
a simple life,
well maybe,
a simple elegant life.
